- With sufficient strength and stiffness. Under working conditions (such as pressure, temperature, sliding speed, etc.), the deformation should be as small as possible, and can be sealed when the working conditions fluctuate.
- The sealing end surface shall have sufficient hardness and corrosion resistance to ensure a satisfactory service life under working conditions.
- The sealing ring shall have good heat and impact resistance. For this reason, the material is required to have a high thermal conductivity and a small line expansion coefficient, under the heat impact is not cracking.
- Seal ring matching should have a small friction coefficient and good self-lubrication, sealing ring material and sealing fluid should also have a very good infiltration. If short dry friction occurs during work, no end surface of sealing.
- Seal rings should be simple, symmetrical and give priority to integral construction. Can also use a combination (such as mounting) sealing ring, try to avoid the sealing end surface spray structure.
- The sealing ring should be easy to manufacture, easy to install and repair, and cheap.
